And the insane thing is that we still have family members that are not that distant. We even stayed with them and got to hear lots of old family stories.

Heidi Sutton @ Ag Source MagazineHeidi Suttonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16729295078128107692noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5753773086042054845.post-55591837203937389572015-03-29T19:05:27.507-07:002015-03-29T19:05:27.507-07:00A terrific medley of photos. The lonely rusty green machine is a potato digger I believe. But my favorite is the story of the brothers who decided to help out by having a plowing contest. What a great idea. I suppose this comment is a little off topic -- of farm equipment, at least -- but I love that white house with its red roof! It looks so cozy and comfortable nestled in near the trees and with all its outbuildings. I also enjoyed the photo of Helen and Frank's garden with the large piece of equipment (which might have become an eyesore in some circumstances). And then the sheep near the old truck. I was the opposite. As my ancestors were primarily farmers, I have an overload of wonderful farming photos but I have shown most of them before so tried to show different pictures this week.Sharonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06636761469099608281noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5753773086042054845.post-90516109469799402572015-03-27T18:01:26.903-07:002015-03-27T18:01:26.903-07:00Our local university, Deakin, hosted an internatio...Our local university, Deakin, hosted an international ploughing competition a few years ago and I was astonished at the skills of the competitors. We were interested because several of my husband's ancestors were successful in ploughing competitions here in Victoria in the 1800s and also Devon before they migrated.Boobookhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01395043246338753023noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5753773086042054845.post-70190502393471386472015-03-27T14:24:59.577-07:002015-03-27T14:24:59.577-07:00There are a lot of things worse for racing than tr...There are a lot of things worse for racing than tractors--e.g. turtles and beds...Postcardyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16399915833682943432noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5753773086042054845.post-86904534473845441382015-03-27T09:45:04.798-07:002015-03-27T09:45:04.798-07:00Wonderful post, for a non-farming gal.
